8 Items You Need To Do If You Moved Your Wedding Date To 2021

1. Hire a wedding planner.

Planning a wedding alone is hard enough, but having to move your date during a pandemic creates a whole new set of challenges. Hiring a wedding planner helps you navigate those to do lists and helps you check them off one by one. They take a lot off your plate and gives you time to focus on other things in your life.

2. Be open-minded about potential dates.

There is only 52 Saturday's in a year so consider alternative days because everyone is going to vying for the same dates. Friday or Sunday can be a the top of the list, but so can a midweek wedding. Keep an open mind and remember those friends and family will be there no matter what day of the week you pick!

3. Get an insurance policy (if you don't already have one).

It may not cover much related to the coronavirus pandemic, but a wedding insurance policy is still an important purchase, especially right now. It protects you from all the uknown's.

4. Notify your guests of the change.

This one is the one that every couple knows and whether you do it by mail or email, either is fine. Just make sure you get that new date out as quickly as possible so guests make the appropriate arrangements.

5. Take a look at your menu and make changes where necessary.

Sometimes changing your dates means you have not just simply moved it out a year from your original date. So the menu that was great for a summer wedding might not be right for a spring wedding. It's something to consider and costs could be a factor on whether you stick with the original menu or not.

6. Keep an open mind (and flexible budget) around your wedding flowers.

Just as we were talking about the menu at your wedding the same can be said for the flowers at your wedding. Are they in season? Will I have to pay more if want my original flowers? Keep these things in mind and again be flexible.

7. Celebrate your original wedding date.

Do something as couple like an intimate dinner at home and watching your favorite romantic comedy. Or celebrate on Zoom with your wedding party with a virtual cocktail party. Or contact your photographer to do a session with you on your original wedding date. It can fun and a way of capturing more memories that will last a lifetime.
