Happy New Year! Congratulations! Ugh!

The new year is upon us, and you have something to amazing to RING in the new year with...a new ring! You're engaged! You're beyond excited...at least you were.  You want you wedding day to be the best it can possibly be, BUT...you body is NOT wedding day ready.  Of course, your fiance loves you just the way you are, but when you look back at the images from your wedding day, you want to know you looked the best you ever have. You have always imagined walking down the aisle, your body perfectly toned, skin flawless and glowing, hair amazingly shiny.  Achieving the ideal you will taking planning. Why not start the new year with a resolution to plan for a wedding ready you?

We are not medical professionals and will not provide fitness expertise.  We want to help you by outlining a plan that will help make attaining your dream possible.  Remember that getting wedding day ready will take planning, preparation, and commitment.  Here is a general outline that you can follow.

As close to your engagement as possible, begin you fitness plan.  A solid fitness routine will set the stage for reaching your wedding ready body.  First, set goals.  Do you want to flatten your tummy?  Is there a weight or dress size that is ideal?  Setting your goals early is important in keeping track of your progress to attaining your goals.  The key to setting successful goals is being realistic.  Making achievable goals prevents frustration. Frustration is the main cause responsible for people abandoning a goal.

Start your fitness program ASAP.  With the assistance of health care providers, especially if you have health issues, decide what work out routine appeals to you.  Are you a gym person? Do you need a class setting to keep you motivated? Or is a home gym more your style?  Whatever appeals to you, start signing up/investing in your program. Keep a workout diary.  This is a fantastic method of keeping track of your progress as you strive to meet your goals.

To accompany your fitness regimen you will need to eat right.  By the time you are nine months pre-wedding you should have an eating plan in place (please, always seek the advice of your medical profession, if you have health care needs).  Allowing ample time to shed any unwanted pounds will avoid unhealthy, quick weight loss damage to you body.  Slimming down takes time.  Eating foods rich in fatty-acid will help make your hair shiny and your skin glow.

Skin care follows right behind establishing an eating plan.  Blemish-free, glowing skin doesn't happen over night.  Begin with establishing cleansing and moisturizing routines morning and evening.  Concerned about blemishes or wrinkles? Smooth problem areas by investing in toners, blemish creams, and wrinkle-removing products to target specific issues.  For more troubling areas, schedule an appointment with a dermatologist for professional assistance.

Approximately half way to your wedding day, assess your plan.  Have you been sticking to you fitness routine and eating well?  Are you slimming down at a rate that will get you to your goal? How is your plan working? This can be a point when you plateau...lose motivation.  Should that happen, change things up a little (try a different workout class, create a new route for your daily run, etc.), enlist a buddy- having someone with you can go a long way to boost your spirits. A buddy can also help you stay accountable.  This is also the time to really target those areas that you want to shine (i.e. bathing suit flat tummy).  Keep up the good work!

Hydration!  For healthy body, skin, and hair it is always highly recommended to drink at least eight 8oz glasses of water per day.  At the four month pre-wedding mark some professional encourage a bride-to-be to increase her water intake to eleven 8oz glasses of water each day.  The benefits of staying hydrated are abundant: 1)Body-water makes you feel full and people who drink a lots of water tend to consume fewer calories; 2) Skin-high water intake will reduce pore size and keep skin cells hydrated, which helps kin looks younger and more vibrant. It can also reduce bouts of acne. Water is an easy way to promote the success of your wedding ready body.

There are now  90 days, start focusing on the details.  Your weight should be close to target, skin will be dewy and supple, hair looks shiny. Now, look closer. Maybe your eyebrows need attention.  Or your bikini line needs tidying.  Are your teeth looking dull? Schedule appointments with estheticians/professionals  to help fine tune those troubling areas.

Two months to go, time to manage stress.  Add relaxation to your routine.  There are countless options from meditation to a nice warm spa.  Select a method the best suits you and dive in.  Keeping your stress in check will benefit the success of your fitness program, your eating plan, and your skin regimen.  So pamper yourself.

The month prior to your wedding, get plenty of sleep, eat well, and avoid overly strenuous activities (you don't want an injury to throw a monkey wrench into you plans).  The key now is to take care of yourself.  That's it, you made it!!
