Meet Pro DJ Frankie

Today, I'm introducing a new series called Pro Tips. As a wedding photographer I get to work with great pros throughout the wedding day. Makeup artists, florists, cake, lighting and more. My first Pro Tips blog is with DJ Frankie Carbone from CWDJ Entertainment. Frankie has been a DJ for weddings and events for 15 plus years. He trained under some of the best DJ companies before going out on his own. We sat down to discuss some of his best tips including what one thing that you can add to your event so that everyone, even grandma and grandpa get out on the dance floor.

Bouquet Toss Songs for 2018

Frankie shared some thoughts on choosing alternative songs for the bouquet toss. Since 2008 the default bouquet toss song has been Beyonce's Single Ladies (Put a Ring On It). Here are Frankie's suggestions for other bouquet toss songs. Follow the link to take a listen!

1. Brooke Valentine - Girl Fight

2. Cyndi Lauper - Girls Just Want To Have Fun

3. Keri Hilson - Pretty Girl Rock

We love to hear what your bouquet toss song would be even if it isn't one of Frankie's suggestions.

Years of experience. Does it matter?

Frankie and I talked about why experience matters. Here are some takeaways from that conversation.

Tone: The DJ set's the tone for the party and makes sure everyone is included in the fun

Flow: The DJ makes sure that each planned event during the reception happens at it's appointed time and can adjust on the fly

Coordination: The DJ makes sure that your photographer and videographer are ready to go for each planned event

Equipment: Pro DJ's not only have excellent equipment including quality sound, but also have back up equipment in case of any failures

One other tip for choosing your DJ. Make sure their personality fits with you and your wedding event. The photographer, videographer and DJ are the three places where personalities are going to be reflected to you and all of your guests.
